Change is inevitable—but coaching through change requires resilience, self-awareness, and the right tools. This GAIOP session will highlight three unique perspectives on navigating transitions:
-
Integrating self-care into coaching practices during organizational change.
-
Equipping leaders with tools to handle difficult conversations effectively.
-
Building resilience and grit as dynamic, coachable capacities for growth and adaptability.
All sessions offer research-based strategies, practical exercises, and reflective insights that attendees can bring directly into their coaching practice.

Featured Topics
Coaching Through Changes: Integrating Self-Care into Organizational Transition
Dr. Carmy Aristor, PhD, MBA – Founder, Destined Horizons Mental Health Practice
This presentation explores how evidence-based self-care practices can be incorporated into coaching engagements during times of organizational transition. Drawing on recent research, participants will learn and practice a simple self-care technique while exploring strategies to embed wellness into organizational cultures.
Coaching Through Changes: Using Difficult Conversation Tools in Coaching
Dr. Michelle Streich, PhD – Organizational Psychologist & Executive Coach
Difficult conversations are a defining part of leadership—and effective coaching. This session provides a dual-lens perspective: first, how coaches can use specific tools to support leaders navigating tough conversations; and second, how those same tools can be modeled and applied within the coaching relationship itself.
Building Resilience & Grit in Clients: Advanced Strategies for Executive Coaches & I/O Psychologists
Dr. Bonnie J. Taylor, EdD, MBA – Leadership Consultant & Executive Coach
Resilience and grit have become cornerstones of leadership development, yet too often they are framed as simple traits rather than dynamic, coachable capacities. This session invites attendees to move beyond the buzzwords and engage with evidence-based strategies for cultivating sustainable resilience and adaptive grit in clients. Participants will examine resilience not just as “bouncing back,” but as “bouncing forward” toward growth, adaptability, and purposeful action. Along with a toolkit of applied frameworks and interventions ready for immediate integration into their coaching practice, participants will gain a deeper appreciation for resilience and grit as context-dependent dimensions of human performance and leadership.
